ABOUT LUMASPACE

Clearer arrangements, at a hard time.

Lumaspace exists to make one of life's most difficult pieces of admin a little easier to carry.

When someone dies, families suddenly have arrangements to make, people to keep informed and information scattered across messages, emails, notes and pieces of paper. We're building Lumaspace to bring more of that into one calm, private place.

WHY

Why we're building it

Families we've spoken to consistently tell us that one of the hardest parts isn't any single decision. It's trying to keep track of everything while grieving, often with several people helping and information scattered across messages, emails, notes and pieces of paper.

Lumaspace started with a simple question:

Could technology take some of that practical weight away, without getting in the way of the human parts that matter?

It's personal for me too. Loss has shaped my own family, and I've seen how much families have to carry when somebody dies.

I'm building Lumaspace because I believe technology can take some of the practical weight away without getting in the way of the human parts that matter.

OUR PRINCIPLE

Take some of the weight.
Never add to it.

Bereaved families don't need another complicated system to learn.

Everything we build should make something simpler, clearer or easier to manage. If it doesn't, it shouldn't be there.

Lumaspace is being built step by step. Some practical tools are already free to use, while the private family space at the heart of Lumaspace is coming next.

WHO'S BEHIND IT

Built with families. Shaped with professionals.

We're building Lumaspace from conversations with families who have arranged funerals, alongside input from funeral directors and other bereavement professionals.

RECOGNISED BY SCOTTISH EDGE

Scottish EDGE

Winner, Wild Card EDGE · scottishedge.com ↗

LumaSpace was a Wild Card winner at Scottish EDGE, following a competition that attracted a record 120 entrants.

This support helped us take LumaSpace from research and early ideas into something families can now use.

BUILT IN SCOTLAND

LumaSpace is created by Lantern Digital Ltd, a company registered in Scotland.

We're building it here with the ambition of helping families across the UK and, eventually, beyond.

FOR FUNERAL PROFESSIONALS

Funeral directors are at the heart of supporting families after someone dies. We're talking with funeral professionals as we develop LumaSpace, so the tools we build complement the support they already provide.

If you're a funeral professional, we'd love to hear what you think.

We're starting small. The mission isn't.

We're beginning with practical tools families can use today, and building carefully from there.

The ambition is bigger: to create the most useful and trusted digital place for families when someone dies.
